My base model VS III ute came with a cheesy grey front bumpers. I bought a white front bumper cheap on eBay, now how do I get the old one off? It's a base model so no need to worry about airbag sensors, but what else do I need to consider?
I can see where most of the bolts/screws are and they all look pretty simple to figure out, but it looks like there are two clips on either side that hold the top edge of the bumper to the front guards, I can't see any way to get to these. Are they just clips? Should I just give them a pull and hope they don't break?
When I changed mine I found 2 bolts on either side going through into that top edge of the guard both sides , accessable from underneath with long extension bar and socket etc , can't remember the size of the socket off hand . Bolts on the stabilising bracket arms to the bar bottom lips at the wheel arches and three on top of the grill section .
OOOpps , mines a VR , thinking they are the same here.
vr and vs are the same
i have to take mine off in the next week or so but my VS has a air bag so is there anything you have to be carefull of when taking the bumper off with a air bag?
No air bag sensors or any type of connector to worry about on any series VR/VS on the bumper.
Best thing you can do is get a gregorys manual. They have a picture of the front bumper with the location of all the screws that hold the bumper on. Once the screws are removed the bumper clips off. Best done with two people to avoid scratching paint.
