Hi guys,
Wanting to stiffen the springs of the vr, and wanting to know two things. What sort of springs should i get (on a budget), and will i need new shocks?
Cheers
get some fe2's bridgestone qouted me 400 installed anylower than any fe2's u need new shocks
i am fairly sure fe2 are not stock hieght!
fe2"s are so close to standards its not funny, get some kings and a set of Monroe gt double action shocks, it will stiffen your ride but at the same time give you a comfortable ride![]()
I suspect you would need to go custom made to get something significantly stiffer at standard height. Kings etc might have a HD range that suit, you would have to check. Else aurora/industrial springs or similar places would be able to help you.
if you want it to not roll so much - get fatter swaybars
heaps of people overcompensate for small swaybars by putting in real stiff springs - which ruins mid-corner bump handling!
get a fat front and rear sway bar and see how it handles
add stiffer FE-2 height springs to compliment.
I was going to suggest heavy duties, eg towing springs, they'll provide a stiff spring, and apropriate shocks will do you well!
where would i find the sway bars, and how much $$
better handling requires sway bars. try supercheap, repco, autobarn or a performance shop. heavy springs stuff you ride. if its for towing put airbags under it. seperate air valves
If you trust ebay, there are sway bars on ebay all the time. Have a look at a wrecker too, but it can be hard to tell exactly what you are buying..
