    Default steering wheel cover

hey all, i have a 93 acclaim which has an airbag, now the spot where the right horn button is, is torn abit and looks ugly :P and i plan to go to U-PULL IT to get a newish one.

after i get one, what should i do/not do while playing around near the airbag? is it just a simple process of undoing the funny star bolts at the nack and taking the old cover off?

    thanks.

I would get a gregorys if you dont have one. Australia day weekend, auto stores normally put on a sale so you can probably save yourself some $. Otherwise photocopy the pages you need at the library.

The gregorys has a full procedure to safely remove the air bag steering wheel. Its not hard, just need to do things right.

Torx screws hold it on, if it has been on for a while it will be fairly tight (the whole wheel that is). Once the bolts are all undone (double check so that youre not fighting a bolt that is still there), you sit in the drivers seat, push your feet to the floor and lift yourself up by pulling on the wheel. Rock the wheel side to side and it will eventually give in.

Dont know why it tears around the horn, but mine did too. Got another in really good condition off ebay for something like $50. Probably just as easy to replace the entire wheel rather than just the air bag. I think you would have a hard time finding someone selling just the air bag without the wheel.
