I have a 1996 VS V6 which has be dying when ever i do a sharp turn such as a quick u turn or pulling out into traffic it has nearly caused me to have a accident.
It seems to be running out of petrol i replaced the fuel pump about 2 months ago and it done this way before that and still doing it now.
My fuel reader doesnt read correctly its empty at inbetween 1/4 and empty been doin that for about 1 year..
Any ideas to fix these issues? sick and tired of nearly being killed when ever i pull out into traffic.
the sender unit will be worn out. mine did the same thing, all i did was removed a known good one (from a VP) and swapped over the float arms. i had the issue with the little sensor bit on the float was worn. replaced it and now i have no issues with fuel gauge.
with the running out of fuel, are you shore its not related to the fuel gauge?
it also may be the swirl pot in the tank, it may of become unstuck and causing the pump not to pick up the fuel when your low
Is it cutting out because it is actually running out of fuel because thats how it reads and if so keep the fuel in it above a 1/4 until you fix it.
Otherwise it sounds like it could be your IAC (idle air control) on your throttle body.
This is supposed to adjust the amount of air into the engine at low to idle speed to compensate for load on the engine from things like power steering, AC on/offand alternater charging..
When these things come into play at low to idle speed the engine will stall if the IAC isn't adjusting properly or quick enough.
Try cleaning the TB and IAC with TB or carby cleaner.
Don't forget to put some vaseline on the O ring before refitting the IAC.
Cheers SW.

It seems once my tank gets below 3/4 of a tank it will run out when i turn sharply. so its like the pump is sitting high..
It has been put in correctly though.
Any other ideas.
Thanks
Hi .Mate
Not sure if this will help you much as I am not sure if a vs11 has a CAS but my Vr was doing the same thing and thats what I found out it was after i replaced the fuel pump and filter.
