    Default Sway bars thickness

    Hey,
I have 225/60/16's on my VR, and i want to know what the size of the sway bars would need to be for a good upgrade in handling. I was thinking 27mm front and 20mm rear? any opinions?
Is is too thick or too thin, i was tossing up between 18mm and 20mm rear bars

mines 28mm. might be a HSV thing, as its a lot thicker than whats on my VN. seems to handle well with that

For a sedan, the 27mm front and 20mm rear you mentioned should be fine, a good upgrade from stock.
27mm fronts only came on HSV's(also 28mm) or aftermarket, peddars, Kmac, Whiteline etc.
If you don't have any new bars as yet try the wreckers.
This option from the wreckers would be a lot cheaper than buying new.
VR/VS wagons ran a 26mm front bar (sedans 24mm) and plenty of commodores ran 18
mm rears (20mm rears only came on VN police cars).

26mm on the rear is way too big.
Biggest aftermarket bar I've seen is 22mm and biggest factory bar is 20mm.

Feel how your car handles, and judge what you need accordingly.

When speaking relatively to changes in the opposing bar:

Thicker back = more oversteer, thinner back = more understeer
Thicker front = more understeer, thinner front = more oversteer

Ok. My rear bar is already 19mm. Is that standard for a VS?

Couldn't tell you, usually around 16 0r 18mm but 19mm not bad size just play with your front for now.
