awsome, yeah cus ive always wondered why on a cold start it takes a bout 5 or 6 secs to start it sounds pretty bad aye, i though changing my oil to a 5-50 fully synthetic oil wud help but nah it didnt![]()
oh true i shud run a total fuel cleaner through it n see how it goes, or do u reakon they mite be stuffed, did urs start as soon as u turned key once u changed the injectors?
if u get them cleaned properly, and make sure they are spraying properly, im in darwin and got mine done for $33 a plug so will proborbly be cheaper where you are but yea well worth it dont think using injector cleaner is a waste of time. and yea after i got all the air out of the system in wound over once or twice and started. havent had a problem since.
ahh kk cheers man, 33 each isnt too bad of a price not sure what it will be here

i mite go get 6 brand new injectors and get them put in and see how that goes
they shudnt be over 40 bucks an injector ay?
You won't get new VS injectors (Bosch 0 280 150 973) brand new for $40. I bought put VN-VR injectors in mine as I was advised they were the same. They do ok, but they lack power. I had my VS injectors cleaned and now the car goes fine. I would stick with the VS one's, but many injector places are now selling the VT injectors (777's) for the VS's (~$50 on ebay new) - not sure if it is a good idea or not. You can get reco ones on ebay for ~$120.
All this said, my problems started after the cleaned injectors were fitted, but I haven't had an issue since I cleaned the throttle body (esp. the IAC valve and port) and did an ecu reset.
oh ok cheers for that aceventura, i got a service comming up soon, ill get them to clean all my injectors for me, prob safer doing that then buying other ones
F*&$ this is annoying!!!

ok new symptom.
Before when the car had not been started for a few days the engine would shake and shudder at idle (really badly). Now the car is running a little rough everytime the car is started (no error codes).
Also I was driving it up the driveway today and every time I put the accelerator down the engine made a ratter-tatter sound. The exhaust gases didn't smell quite right either. It has 95 Vortex in the tank.
Took it for a drive for 10 mins running fine.
This sound worries me much more than the rough idle, but it has only made this sound once, and only just after start up. Hope this problem gets sorted soon, or I'll have to go to the mechanic as well.

AHHHHHHHHHH ive spent to much money, im broke again, god it would be nice if i made enough money and didnt get payd monthly, in other words ittl be a month before i can get into a mechanic
has anybody found anything that definatly points to the cas as the problem or visa versa?
also can i upload audio to this site? i was thinkin seein as im in radio i should record it playing up and upload it so we can figure out whats causing this (and youll be able to see if im having the same problem as you)

Hi guys,
I have a 1994 VR, same problem, when I let the car sit for a day or two it starts and idles rough. Once I get the revs up (~3000rpm), it smooths out and no problems.
New symptom though, I tried to start it one day, and engine wouldn't turn over. I called RAA, and the guy manually turned over my engine. He suspects, that I had compression lock in one of my cylinders. Probably due to a cracked head or gasket? Could this be related to the rough idling? My car has almost 300k on it.
This sounds too similar to the problem I've just developed.
Definate smell of fuel, seems to run OK while driving, but the starting up is a bitch
I replaced my fuel regulator less than a year ago, I'm suspecting the vacuum line

My Holden doesn't leak, It's just marking it's territory!
its got to be something to do with fuel. cos mine takes a few seconds to start like it has a spark but no fuel to light. then when it actually does start, it seems like that when it needs more fuel, it cant get enough through until it warms up or clears up enough.
thats what my problem feels like. any elses the same?

nah man, mine just has that 5 second delay then starts and runs fine
My injectors were cleaned before the problems, but what if the cleaning has done something??
Is it possible for injectors to become a little "sticky" - so when you first start it they don't move freely, but after revving a little higher, they free up?
Not sure if it is possible, but it would explain my problems. Any comments?
no idea man, mine havnt been cleaned and it does it, on warm starts it starts straight away so its over my head at what the problem is, it seems like it cant be fixed
has anyone been to holden for a service to try find the problem?
