ok. i have an issue with a clunkin in the front end.
when i bought my car i had to replace both sway bar link rods as they bent. then i had my front end lowered, just changed the spring, thats all and it was fine. now i have put actual lowered struts in and im having alot of issues with noises comin out of the front right. its ticking as i drive down the road, then it clunks under light brakes. im gonna stick my head under there again tommorow and see if it has anything to do with the brakes.
my question is. does anyone have any idea what i should look for? is starting to **** me off.
edit: i have noticed on another users car, a larger style of link rod that is thinker and has a bend in it. should i get some of these as well?
edit 2: its a VR series 2 im pretty sure
Cheers
Jarrod.
If it aint broke, dont fix it.
when you changed your struts did the strut top fall apart and all the ball bearings fell out? lol.. coz thats what happened to me and put em all back in but it knocks and ticks and stuff now... replace your strut tops should fix it.
ok, so it seems to be a problem coming from the assembly on top of the strut. when i hve the dosh i will replace both sides. but i will get a wheel allignment when i put the 18's back on tomorrow, if that doesnt help, then ill have to take more drastic measures. cause, yes the ball bears did fall out on me, but i repacked it.
anyway, thanks for the help. would not have thought to look there.

Sorry to say, but i just can not believe you would even think about repacking the strut top bearings. They fell out becasue they are stuffed. Replace them, and do the rest of the people on the road around you a favor..
yeh as said teh bearing assembly and/or the top rubber mount is stuffed, when i changed me shocks in me vs when the ride height was stock i reused the bearings but when i took them off to lower teh car (about 1 month later) they broke into 1 million prices....lucky i have brand new ones sitting there ready to go in ...i got them for 20 bucks each from repco and the rubber mounts were 22 each from another place
I lowered the front of my car. About 6mths later and the bearings have gone (just old, nothing to do with the suspension). Can someone tell me how to do it myself? If it is hard, I would rather pay the $250 to have it done properly.
In regard to the question, it pays to check ALL the bushes before doing anything major. Holden put cheap ones in that dont last long.
