Checked my books and they all say take it to a workshop as specialised equipment is required to disassemble the hub.....so I guess that means you need a decent press etc. Sorry I cannot help more.

Yep, unfortunately you need the proper press etc to get the old bearings out and stick the new ones in.

The old ones will be absolutely buggered... mine had to be almost smashed out, and when they did come out, the actual ball bearings fell out everywhere... right over the entire workshop floor.

There is quite a bit of labour involved too, as both the rear driveshafts need to come out and then the bearing itself, and then the whole lot has to be put back together.

Thanks for your help guys, seems i have no choice then but 2 have them done. Just wondering how much did it set you back when you had yours done?

    Thanks

From memory it was about $200 in labour to get one of my rear bearings replaced... but that was a few years ago now. The actual bearing itself only cost around $60.
