hey
id thought id post here before the VS forumn. when i select the floor seting all you can here is a lot of air from behind the glovebox, nothing from the vents. just been regassed but the guy wasnt sure just from hearing it. what could it be, is there anything i can check behind there that is relativly simple?
anybody? ill post in the VS forumn in a day or so if i get nothing here...
there is a vacuum line that runs behind the glove box and connects onto a little plug behind it. it can come off. same thing happened to my VR
1995 Manual HSV Clubsport
Wade Cam :: 9.2:1 CR :: Pacemaker headers :: Twin 2.5" Exhaust :: VT Brakes
1991 Supercharged VN Berlina
9 PSI SC14 Intercooled :: Genie headers :: Twin cats :: HM Twin 2.25 exhaust :: 3.45:1 LSD
stocky could u post a pic of the plug im supposed to be looking for? just got around to looking at it today
i am having the same problem with a 99 VT, all I hear is lots of noise behind the grovebox and very little air is coming out through the vents. I have checked all vacuum lines and the vacuum tank seems to hold a good vacuum. engine vacuum lines are intact. Switch behind dash is connected, except for one empty spot is this normal? anyways i am lost too.
I think the others might be saying to trace back the vacuum lines from the centre console to a box(vac tank) on the left of the blower fan. There are two or three black lines that go into the box. If you run the car and unplug any of them you should hear a hissing sound. Probably means that there is good vac if you hear this, if not then there is a leak somewhere. I am still trying to work out on mine why i have good vac but still getting that blowing behind the passenger glove box and poor vent flow. From the forum i have gathered that any of these could cause the prob:
-vac line disconected at intake plenum
-one way valve at intake plenum stuffed
-vac tank leaking/diconected line
- vac ports in dash dial stuffed
- leaking actuator that is not changing flaps properly
- vacuum solinoid under radio stuffed
cheers
drop out the blower fan and stick your hand up and find the evap, small cavity towards the front of the car, check it you can feel dirt and debris all in the coils. I did this then took a small toothbrush and sprayed as much of the coils as I could and tried to dislodge the debris. After, the air through the vents blows harder....
