name this part

what is the name of the black cylinder thing to the right of the battery in vr commodores.
it has 2 thin tubes running to it and i accidentally snapped 1 tube.
that cant be reattached. it is connected to the lid.
if you know wat it is. will i have to buy a new part or should i try n scrunge 1 from wreckers.

a decent one from the wreckers should be fine

Yeah, you can grab one from the wreckers. Sounds like you've just snapped one of the ends off the purge valve. Nothing critical 'till you can get it fixed up

Yeah sounds like the charcoal canister... I've actually got a brand new one here that I never got around to fitting to my VS... If you are interested let me know and we can come to an arrangement perhaps?
