I want to upgrade my brakes soon and i know the vt brakes will fit onto the front of my VS
But want to clear up a few things before i go ahead with it.
Since the vt hub bore on the rotors are slightly larger than the vs.. to fix this you can put a shim in between the rotor and hub, but i have also been told that you can fit VT hubs onto the VS and wont have to worry about the shim?
Is this true?
And will the calipers bolt straight on without having to use mounting brackets etc...?
And then all thats left is the different brake hoses and larger master cylinder??
Cheers, Jonathan
You can buy a DBA disc specially designed for the VT to VS fitment, VT disc 296x28 with VS 70mm bore. part#DBA-040B

OR
you can use spacer rings available on eBay for around $50-60
COMMODORE ADAPTOR RING VT TO VR VS BRAKE CONVERSION - eBay Other Brakes, Brakes, Car Parts, Accessories, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 07-Feb-09 06:54:00 AEDST)
Calipers bolt straight on but you will need adapting brake hoses with a VS body fitting and VT caliper fitting.
You can fit a VT master using a spacer available from Race brakes in Sydney
Performance Brake Packages
Lastly if your car is abs equipped you won't be able to use VT hubs as they use a different abs tooth count to that of the VS also don't know if the VS ball joint fits the VT hub.
Hope that clears up a few things.
