Guys,
Want to start an engine (304) which is out of the car to see what it is like before placing it into my statesman.
It has an auto connected to it, what is the best way to start it up for 30 seconds or so to listen to it to make sure it runs ok?
(I have no computer it is in the car.. just the complete motor).
Thanks
Without the computer it wont start unless you put in a standard dizzy connect up coil etc and tip some fuel in it.. Pretty much to much playing around so I wouldn't bother..
Why is it called Alcoholics Anonymous when the first thing you do is stand up and say, 'My name is Ray, and I am an alcoholic'?
Thanks Dvolvo for your quick response.
If i was to get the computer, how hard is it to start her up?
Cheers
if you take the computer and the engine loom out of the car then all you need to do it connect everything from the loom to the engine and connect power wires in the loom to battery.. it'd be just like its in the car... you'll also need to connect fuel lines to the fuel rail... too much stuffing around i think.. itd be easier to mount the engine in the car and run it and if its no good then take it back out again.
Adam.
yeah you need to run the complete computer system and fuel system, can be done i did it with a mate before i bought a rb25de motor off him, it was on a stand and we ran a stock vn pump in a bucket of fuel (coverd) with return line and the computer. ran fine so i bought it for my old vl, now i have sold it on again.........
