    Default Removing engine

Hey guys i need to do an engine swap between my 2 VR`s, however i do not have a crane or hoist avaliable, is there a way to take the engine out/put it back in without a crane? or can you make something to do the same job as a crane?

any help will be greatly appreciated

one way that might work for you is to disconnect everything and unbolt the struts from the chassis, unbolt the k-frame from the car but leave engine bolted to that then lift the front of the car and simply roll the engine out on the front wheels and then reverse for the new engine

Two people - one on either side of the engine bay with a length of 2" pipe attached by chain/rope to the engine can lift most any engine. My son and I have done this with Valiant Hemi's and a 253 V8. You need to remove the radiator and aircon condenser and have the trans pulled back from the engine under the car.
