Hi,
Ive read a few posts on this site to try and fix my problem but cant seem to find the answer im looking for so i need some help. My VS 1995 commodore key recently died in the arse and havent been to able to start my car very well. Ive read some threads where i can get a new key through either a holden dealer or a Mr Minit or even ebay.
My Question is which number on my BCM is the correct number to get my key programmed? Is it the 92049 number or is it the L03#####.1 number under the barcode on the BCM? or is it neither and do i just have to ring holden to get my number? Tried ringing holden earlier but they werent to helpful.
If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
ok, you can go to Mr Minute some have the transponders for holden keys!
basically all they do is cut the key and provide a blank transponder unit key head...
They'll tell you to take this key put into the ignition and crank over the car, leave the key in the ignition for about 20 minutes and your key will then have been programmed correctly!
issues you may have, unlocking it remotley, you'll need to physically unlock your car from the car door lock...
also i have heard instances where the fuel pump wouldn't engage because it didn't recognise the key!
but these things are rare to happen!!! if your needing further questions answered go to a lock smith or mr minute and they have all your answers for sure!
Cheers thanks for the quick reply, my local mr minit has the blank transponder in stock so ill head down and give it ago.
once you have the key cut and have the blank transponder your holden dealer can put tech 1 on it and program it correctly......or the holden dealer can do it all at once
