okay my dailys ****tin me
when im driving the car seems to run fine, as i come to a stop the car starts to feel like its going to stall (as it goes to stall i think the ecu is picking up on that and raises the revs.) specially on a hot day with climate control on. i changed the coil packs as i thought they were failing under the heat. but it seems to still be doing it just not quiet as bad. its also using huge amounts of fuel getting about 200km out of a tank on the highway and some small city driving and ideas of parts i can replace to fix this? its a 140,000km vs so nothings actully been changed on it from factory under the bonnet so it still has all original sensors, fuel pumps etc etc also has a an exaust leak just after the o2 sensor at the flange from the manifold. need ideas. having the leak fixed tomorrow. but what else can i change to stop this huge amount of fuel usage and tryin to stall and most of all its pretty gutless even for a v6
form what i have read there it sounds like the air flow metre has chucked its bag,
and also sounds like it needs a real good service with all filters replaced and plugs also and gap them correctly as well.
That is truly ridiculous fuel economy...
When I picked up my old VT it did about 16-18L/100km, and had 160,000kms on it.
I have it a good major service (fluids, leads, spark plugs, air filter) put new O2 sensors on it, new IAC and TPS (though those two were to try and smooth out the idle more than economy) cleaned the MAF sensor and throttle body, and it went down to about 13-14L, later I converted it to manual and it went down to 12-13L.
That's pretty much my Ecotec tune up recipe. Worked for me, might work for you too? Also check for vacuum leaks too, because the hoses do wear out, and that wouldn't be doing you any favors.
ok i reccived an error code but i dont under stand it and dont understand how id fix it !?!?!
Code 76 - Air/Fuel ratio variation between left and right banks
its to do with ur o2 sensors, have them replaced and you'll need to fix the earth problem.
i do believe there is a how-to in the how-to section
It's saying that one side of the engine is running richer than the other side.
One of your O2 sensors probably shat itself and is giving a bad reading, this will make one bank run richer than the other bank which probably still has a partially working sensor.
Replace the pair of sensors, it's a 10min job with a spanner, you can get new sensors on eBay for about half what Holden charge you.
remember there are 2 types of o2 sensors, one is a wide band sensor, the other is a narrow band sensor..
but i can remember which is used by holden. i think its a wide band sensor
