grinding noise

getting a grinding noise in my vs 5.0 when i take off was told it could be the universal joints or the gearbox is ratshit?? low to high speeds this occurs any help or ideas would be great..

Have a listen when your driving, even get someone to sit in the back and listen to where its coming from.

nope no burnouts at all. the owner i bought it off had the auto reconditioned so he might have killed it but i saw him always cruising slowly

Its hard to say what it could be without actually being there...

Could also be the handbrake sticking and the pads grinding, I cant really tell as I havent heard it.
Best bet would be to get a passanger to sit in the back and take it for a drive, that way they can put their ear to the floor.
