    Default immobiliser problems

i am having trouble with my vs lexcen yesterday i went to unlock the car my keypad wouldnt work so i unlocked the door manually i went to start the car and it wouldnt start as the immobiliser wont turn off, went and brought new key (the old one had been playing up this was my first thought) however it still wont turn off the immobiliser.... Any ideas on what could be the problem????

It could be the BCM. I doubt if it would be the key reader since you couldn't unlock the car either. Those were the symptoms for me when I had to replace the BCM. I would try disconnecting the battery in a hope that it might reset the BCM if it has frozen like computers often do. It might not help but it's worth a shot.

I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.

Did you cycle the ignition before trying to start with the new key?
eg: OFF - ON - OFF

Had a new key cut and coded this morning and this what they told me to do.

Leave the ignition on with the drivers door open till you hear the beeps then try to start it.

everytime i've had a new key coded to my car, i've just put the key in and driven away.. i dont believe there is any other way apart from having the key matched to the bcm via a tech1..
