!!! key light not working !!!!

gday guys
i gota vr exec series 2 and the little light under the steering column where you put you key in doesnt light up. i have trouble finding the hole without the light working i know i can just put the interior light on but i want to try and fix it..

Just take the cover off the steering column and replace the globe. It's **** easy.

There are five screws on the bottom of the cover, all phillips heads. Remove them and pull the cover down. Then pull the globe and take to ricebarn or or sumplace and get a new one.



If it's not the globe, then I dunno where to begin, srry.

If its not the globe you will need to get a multimeter to check resistances and voltages running to the globe. it could possibly and most probably if not the globe your wiring. this happedn to me not for the globe but the Climate control light. you may need to rewire.

Pretty sure you can just get a new globe without the slip on it.. just make sure its the same size etc

the globe itself doesnt have a slip cover on it, the click in plastic piece that the globe light shines through is a green shade, which makes the green light, so thats what shes referring to. You can see what she means at the bottom of the picture above, its a green circle piece.

yeh was tired when i posted that haha...

try gettin new globe or new fuses otherwise could be cabling.. wich happend to mine in a few areas that link to the same cables as the steering colum light....

also im pretty sure the light goes on when the central locking is unlocked.. well it does in mine.. so that might be something to look at... like a sensor or summin
