diff rebuild

what am i up for a diff rebuild cost wise and whats involved in the rebuild? i drive a vs clubby and ppl r tellin me to change the gears to 3.9???

Hey reggie, god your not having much luck with that car are ya lol

I put 3.9s in mine, if you want to pay for them you can get them for about 200-250 off ebay just for the gears, or you can pull a diff from harveys and pull the gears out urself if your handy with cars. Thatll cost you about $100.

If you can get the diff out of your car, i can give you a number of the guy who built my diff, or another good place is keysborough diffs, they quoted me $550 to rebuild the LSD with new cones and everything, and swap the diff gears, and put new bearings and seals through the whole thing, which is a pretty good price.

Then you just gotta put the diff back in, and make sure you use good diff oil like castrol SAF-XA
