    Smile tension pulley

Have a small problem hoping someone can help me out with. I have a Vr and just purchased a tension pully from the wreckers. Holden had told me it needed replacing but the wreckers gave me the whole bracket which seems when looking at it that you have to take off the Alternator. I thought you could just undo the bolt on the tension pulley itself and replace it that way.
    Thanks Sutto

If you don't want to go to the trouble of pulling the alt etc why don't you just remove the pulley from the tensioner assy - bolt it in a vyce and undo the bolt on the pulley....just be aware that it is unscrewed clockwise....not anticlockwise.
