im getting sick of having to fix this bitch, im tryin to mod and build onto her but things are breaking before i can save enough money to fix the last thing that broke!
ive got another post on what the main issue is at the mo called, "vs rough start up then fine" please have a look if you think you can help out
heres the point of this post
this morning i got a code 49 cam angle or crank angle sensor (intermittnt signal)
how hard is this to fix and given that im broke (10 cents in the bank acount and 2 dollars i pinchd from my girlfriend for food) i dont get payd till the 15th, how much damage will i do to the car if i drive arround in her for a week or 2?
you dont turn a holden off
you power it down!
for any one who asks, holdens dont leak oil, there marking there territory
mate this is terrible luck your having, but to answer your question, the CAS error your getting is basically the CAS about this sh1t itself, you won't do damage to your car by driving around with this, but beaware though that your car may cut out whilst driving, which isn't a good thing, it can be dangerous, and can potentially put others at risk, I would be very carefull driving yor car around with this problem...
the cost to fix this, well it's an easy job but it's a pain in the ar$e, basically you need to remove the harmonic balancer, replace the CAS which is about $55 from repco the last time i checked, then your good to go...
your telling me
hahaha
thanks mate ill have a go at it, is thking the harmonic balancer out hard??
also, could this be related to the other issue ive been having?
VS rough on start up, then fine
and thanks for the help bro

the harmonic balancer is a b1tch to remove, especially if it has never been taken off,,, firstly you need to appropriate tools, eg rattle gun, of not then breaker bar, if not then your outta luck... but if your able to crack the nut then you'll need a puller device, these you can pick up at repco for about $20 odd, depending...
so if your able to remove the HB then the CAS is the small plastic thing on the left hand side directly behind the HB, remove and replace easy!
but I would suggest that you get a preofessional to do it when you have the cash, taking off the HB and putting it back on is something i won't risk stuffing up, but that's just me!
good luck!
yea as i was reading that i was thinkin i should get some one to do it hahaha, how much am i looking at to do it, just an estimate?
thanks again bro, your brilliant

well if you purchase the CAS it'll work out cheaper, and when i had it done, i called a lube mobile pro to come out and do it, as they charge by the hour, I got away with having him replace the CAS, HB, fuel pump and check codes for $250..
was worth it for sure, but in your case if you give em a call your probably looking at maybe $90 to $130 to get it done...
pain in the ar$e i know, but CAS is a stupid component and it's painfull to replace!
