    Default vs box heating up??

    the plastic thrust bearing holder in me t5 box keeps getting too hot n melting..second1 ive replaced...the shaft it slides on doest spin....any ideas??

    Maybe the thrust bearing is contacting the clutch fingers all the time and overheating - have you checked the release lever pivot ball height as this can cause it to drag if not adjusted properly.

    then you will have to adjust ya pivot point which means taking off ya box i think its 102 mm from the top of the pivot to flush with the bellhousing face for v6 or 106mm for v8 or around about and loosen ya clutch cable a tad

    I don't think there is (none shown in Gregorys) - if the pivot is properly adjusted and the cable is not jamming (and also properly adjusted) the thrust bearing should not be in contact with the pressure plate fingers.
    Is the actual thrust bearing in good condition? - if it's dry it will overheat and also squeal.

    yea,the bearing was new,,ill adjust the pivot wen i throw the box back on n see how it goes.thanks

    anyone rekon the heat from the extracters could of went in the bell housing causing the carrier to melt??cause its melted n actually fused on the shaft stopping the clutch working..maybe due to 10 mini burnout??the bearing seems to be still new but

    figured it out,,,when u do a manual conversion make sure u put a spiket bush in the crank.....
