Unhappy VR commodore imobilisor or fuel prob??

Ok I jumped into my VR commodore the other day and went to the supermarket locked it and done my shopping, I came back to my car an hour later and unlocked it and it wouldnt start, well started at first and then stalled, I couldnt hear the fuel pump whirring so I thought it was stuffed, so I called a tow truck and took it home, I tried starting it the next day( it hadnt been locked) and it still wouldnt start, so yesterday I was outside again and thought Id give it another go and it started, today I drove it to the supermarket and left it running while I done what I had to do and was fine, then I drove home turned it off and tried starting it and it worked then i tried locking and unlocking and it wouldnt start, anyone know whats wrong?? PS when it wouldnt start it would still turn over but couldnt hear the fuel pump whirring when I turned the ingnition on.
I just had a look at my car a minute ago and the red imobilisor light was flashing with the car unlocked, it stopped when i turned the ignition on, still wont start.

Since the security light turns of when you try to start it I doubt if it's the immobiliser. Sounds like the fuel pump to me, try banging on the bottom of the fuel tank while someone tries to start it. That works sometimes.

Try flicking the key to ignition really quickly back and forth from acc then see if it starts. If it does then it's the fuel pump at fault.

Make sure the pickup ring on the ignition switch is making good contact with the key as you try to start the car

When you turn the key nothing happens. Doesnt try to crank or anything. The red light in the middle of the dash keeps flashing. It will also log an error 31 in the error log. If the car cranks, the immobiliser is not active. If the light in the centre console is not flashing, the immobiliser is not active.

That's an expensive way to overcome what is probably a simple problem! You may also find that it makes your car unroadworthy as it is a factory standard security fitting.
Check the logical things first...like the ones mentioned in this thread. Worst case scenario is that you instal a new BCM (body control module) which comes with a new keyhead. Good Luck.
