happened 1-2 weeks after i bought my VR, i noticed when i did a full turn or even a normal short turn i would hear a groaning noise?
my grandfather said it happens in his VT and a mechanic said it can be normal? but to me it sounds nasty and rough and happens way too often... what is it?
thanks, tristan.
(sorry if this has been posted before)
it could be the rubber boot where the steering column goes through the firewall. Sometimes it rubs on the steering column and so makes a shocking groaning noise as u turn. I've seen the solution on here before but forget where, could have been grease... but do a search
If it happens as you're turning the steering wheel, try lubricating the rubber boot where the steering column goes through the firewall. It can dry up and cause groaning as the column turns inside it. Grease will work, i used silicone spray.
i'll give that a go, thanks for the quick replies![]()
