Default Help me to trick my ECU..

    Hi there,

I'm looking for someone that knows well about ALDL ECU. I have this device that is hooked in between the computer and the O2 sensor.

    Dual EFIE Deluxe - $114.95 : FuelSaver-MPG Store

And I'm looking for the best setting, an amount of milivolts that the computer can accept without the engine to fail in order to lean my fuel mixture the most I can.

Anyone knows if I add 200mV on the sensor line what fuel/air ratio it will be?

So you want to lean out the mixture to save on fuel? Won't work, sorry. the ECU is a pretty smart piece of gear and will soon compensate for any adjustment you make.

All that will probably happen is that your engine light will come on and you will get an error code. Worse case scenario you will melt your cat, lean = hot.

Also the ECU leans out the mixture on the highway anyway.

That's not "it". I need to fool the ECU because I'm adding some HHO gas (Hydrogen) through the air intake so it can accept this gas as a fuel and not simply react as if it was oxygen. It works mate. Look it up.

Oh dear... I sense a Brown's Gas theory coming on...

Firstly, you shouldn't need to trick the ECU, as the O2 sensor is in the exhaust stream; so if you're adding combustible material before the exhaust, then the mixture will run rich and the ECU will lean the mixture to stoichiometric levels anyway.

Secondly can you explain how your hydrogen generator (electrolysis I presume?) consumes less energy splitting H2O molecules than is provided by combining them again?..

Its going really good. I'm saving between 25 and 40%. Hydro is doing great for me, try it. At the moment trying to bend the ECU even more to reach max savings possible. I heard lots of people dissing this technology, all I say is that they should try before they judge it.

I'm still waiting the answer from man86 to figure out the ratio change in terms of milivolts cheers.

You realise you'll get those gains by leaning out your AFR anyway, hydro or not? the downside will be when your engine breaks down from all the pinging and overheating, not to mention all the extra toxic emissions you're all pumping out now.

There is hard science which explains why the hydro setup is unnecessary. I don't fancy turning over $200+ to confirm that.

Danja, you have your opinion, my goal is not to change it. In reality you can find 2 great families of people, the conservatists and the progressivists, and they never agree. Think the way you feel is good.

Eliminator, you are right 100%. However I think a v6 is more interesting in terms of driving. As we speak, my vs does not drink more than a 4cyl anyway, with even more power from the HHO.

Gentlemen, I'm not interested in any political debate and I'm not trying to sell my stuff, was just looking for a technical info, and I partially got it so cheers up!

Sure, we can agree to disagree.

Moving beyond the issue of does hydro work, you ought to be aware that by tricking you ECU into leaning the fuel mixture you are going to:

    1) Increase combustion temperatures, which has implications for the long-term life and reliability of your engine.

    2) Dramatically increase NOx emissions (the really bad ones) which would cause you to fail an emissions test should you ever be required to have one.

Oh, in that case - get a hold of a member called "Greenfoam" on these forums, or he's (better way to contact him) also available on eBay under the user 'nicefrog'

you can them tell him how much % less fuel you want, at what RPMS and at what engine loads, and he can alter the values in the ECU memory to inject less fuel when you specify.

Well danja, how do you explain that dyno tests shows that my carbon emissions has reduced in half..

Lets have a proper discussion about this, I'm down with that. I made a thread for it, let's go.

    Sweet... thats very impressive...

So you have the before and after dyno charts... with results like that I'm sure alot of people would be very interested in this gadget.

    Cheers

Because NOx are not carbon emissions. Carbon emissions are CO2 and unburned hydrocarbons (and some intermediate products).

Let's continue this in your new thread in the pub.
