Hi guys i have started a thread on a bad fuel economy and since then i changed the 02 sensors. the engine light didnt come on but when i pulled the codes just to double check i got:
Code 76 - Air/Fuel ratio variation between left and right banks
Now i know what this means that the right side bank and left side bank have significantly different air/fuel mixtures.
I was wondering if anyone has experienced anything like this and what the problem could be.
Im sort of leaning on to fuel injectors.
Anyone know why and what to do?
Keep in mind i have really bad fuel economy aswell.
THANX TO ALL
What do you consider really bad fuel economy?
A difference in AF ratios between banks usually indicates a vacuum leak or an injector problem on one bank.
Have you reset the ECU, driven it, then checked the codes again?
Well i was getting bad fuel economy like 330KM per full tank.
trip computer showing 20+L / 100KM
Just an update flushed radiator, threw some injector cleaner and cleaned the earth points on the 02 sensors and changed the earth wire to a thicker one for the -'ive terminal.
Car started to splutter alot. So i firstly made sure no water was on the leads etc from radiator flush.
Then i guessed it was the injector cleaner. So i took it on a long drive gassing it hard and it all smoothed out.
Just topped up with premium and reset ecu.
now trip comp shows 15L/100Km after a short drive.
So im guessing my injectors were clogged bad.
I will check for codes again and see what happens.
