Exclamation Please Help- Electricial Problems- VS Ute

Hey Guys, new to this site so please bear with me

i recently purchased my new pride and joy, a 1996 VS Commodore Ute
only done just over 180,000 km, and in absolutly perfect condition.

anyway, now for the problem, a few weeks ago, i noticed when i was driving the car, that when i put my foot on the brake, the headlights came on!!

also sometimes, the left indicator goes spastic and clicks at three times the speed of the right indicator

i think it could be just a bad earth, but not too sure with my inexperience with cars in general, being that im only 17.

also was looking for some cheap mods for the car, but dont have a lot of money, still doing school and all

anyway, all suggestions would be appriciated
    Cheers

    g'day welcome to the forums!

indicator probably means that one of those bulbs is stuffed or about to blow!
as for your cars headlights comming on when you brake well, this is something i have never encountered, I would probably seek an auto electrician for that one! no sense in messing with your cars electrics if you don't know 100% on what you are doing!

    good luck

Mahe sure you've installed the correct globe to the stoplights - check with the opposite side - it's easy to put a single filament globe in where a twin filament globe should be and this will cause problems similar to yours. Good Luck.

mate could be corrossion between your battery terminals and the terminals on the battery, this can cause all weird and wonderful things to happen

as said above make sure it has right brake/tail globes as this can be the headlight on while breaking problem, with the indicator could possible be a globe loose or the flasher unit on its way out
