3k 4 eco+labour = good or bad

i got quated from my local mechanic for $3grand for a rebuilt ecotec plus labour to remove current engine and insert new engine, is he trying to rip my off or is this a good deal?

u could go get a motor that has already been rebuilt for less than that.

and if u have mates that are mechanicly minded, u could do it urself.
