auto fluid use different to dex3

i was wondering if i can use different fluid in my vr other than dex3 like nissan type d fluid or what not. i know its not recommended but i was wondering if there is anything else i should consider. cheers

I've had to use different tran fluid (no frills) when my wifes VR6II had bad tranny seals, and the servo didnt have DXIII, It worked (allthough poored out as I drove lol)
Definately wouldn't recommend it though, DXIII is the way to go!!
Can I ask why you wanna change? Price?

free fluid im building up a bobcat and this dude has heaps of tranny fluid that isnt dex3. i noticed a change in the box when i used this asian crap before but was just curious as im using different grade shti this time

what grade of fluid is it do you know? id probably try to stick woth dexIII

Save your car, less you don't have a stock tranny?

Perhaps if you can contain it, you might be able to swap someone fluid? lol
