lsd in vs?

hey everyone im just wondering is it possible to get an lsd in my vs ute, so everytime i hit a puddle it doesnt just slide, my dads ute has an lsd and his never slides out

does anyone know how much and where i cud them i live in cairns so is it possible to get them locally here?

cheers man and while im here is there a thread on radators for a vs aswell cus the stock one is pretty shit small just wondering is it ok just change it with a bigger one?

maybe look into a V8 one as an upgrade though I`m not sure of different connections etc...

hmmm, haven't seen a thread on big rads. I guess its pretty warm in cans most of the time, but my stock one works ok for me. I can't see you having a prooblem fitting a thicker one if u can find it, as long as you don't change the thermostat. Sure u don't have a small leak somewhere ?

stock ones fine mate. i live in cairns and just so happen to own a vs ute aswell and mine is good as gold, maybe check for leaks?

oh nah its working great, no leaks or anything like that , i was just wondering if it is possible to get bigger ones i though the cooler the engine ran it would be better living in cairns, cus sitting in traffic with aircon on it gets pretty damn warn under the bonnet

narh man its ok once i lower mine it shud handel better n i read somewhere when u change ur diff ur speedo is off so not going to that much trouble, thanks anyway dude

Your speedo only goes out if u change the gear ratio in the diff. If you fit an LSD with the same ratio as your original unit , no worries.

Yeah i dont see why not, any mechanic should know what they are doing. If there is a place that specializes in diffs in your area I would suggest you go there though.

in my opinion it should have one already,
all vs Utes came out the factory with a LSD as standard.
I'm guessing a previous owner has changed it or locked it.
crawl under her and see what it has written on it there should be a tag on the middle bolt on the drivers side see what
it says if it says "high performance" it is or once was a LSD.
if not ring around your local wreckers and see what they have from memory there where some good ones around cairns but
i cant remember which 1's or where they where LOL.

You mean when you drive into a puddle, or when you accelerate in the wet? An LSD isn't going to help you drive through puddles, good tyres will do that, LSD is only for putting power to the ground.

your ute should have a lsd, id say someone has done doughies in it

any borg warner diff basically dies straight after any side ways action.

v8 and v6 lsd diff are the same aside from different gear ratios

i work as a instrument technician and specialise in speedo and just swapping diff wont change anything speedo wise if it has same ratios. look at the back of your diff and see if it has a little metal tag on it that says lsd.

oh ok nah an older lady had it b4 i did so dont think she was doing them lol, and i havnt done any only slid out in the rain few times but thats it, ill give it a check disarvo it pro has a lsd

it should if its vs ute. might be loose.... jack the car up so both rear wheels are off the ground and turn one wheel and see what the other one does

alright well i checked the tag and it said "lsd high preformace" guess i had one the whole time and didnt even know it musta been the crap 16 stock wheels that used to make me have no traction the new 18inch rims n low profiles are much safer and look awsome too

Is prob worth an oil change too, made a world of difference to my LSD
