Unhappy 5L SS Backfires and Thows Flames?? Help??

    Hi Ladies and Gents,
Was Down at a mates Place Last night (Private Property)!!
Anyway its a farm with a bituman Driveway!!

SO.... Long story short the car got hot and as the revs fell it crackled and then popped a 1m flame out the back i shut it down and let it cool and then started it and she was angery and now will not idel on start up for about a minute. the engine has about 25,000kms on it, its a 215 with flattops flowed heads etc. hollow cat.

theres no oil in the water and vise versa..

Any Ideas what it could be?

Where did the other thread in the v8 section go?? it got deleted!!

incase you didnt get my last post, if it is an exhaust valve then the flames will be coming out the exhaust on the power stroke. best way to diagnose this is to get an engine compression test done.

its not contantly doing it tho only that night when it over heated? so a idle no flames normal driving no flames just the very last. rev drop before i shut it down? ill take it for another drive tonight if i can move the engine back....both mounts broke (shered) and engine jusmped smashing the fan shoud and cai..

im in the process of building my new engine but planed on selling the old new one... as i have no license till next year

if the battery is no good and u have had to jump start it or put a battery in every time u do want to start it, all it might need is a good battery, and running daily? and less flogging?.....bah ha ha i know its hard

Your error codes might be causing the ecu to go into limp mode possibly and with your mods it may be running all out in limp mode and causing the issues. I would be reluctant to go anyfurther until you get a tune done for it. Foamy does em for like $50. Send him your memcal with you car model and mods you got and he'll fix it up and send it back. You can check your codes and go from there then.
He must have taken his add down today you just missed the boat, but wait a week and he'll put some more up. Keep an eye on this link eBay Seller: nicefrog: items on eBay Australia

The bad idle might be due to having an auto ECU with manual trans?
