ive read on here somewhere (cant find the thread) that this can be caused by a vacumn hose coming off in the engine bay somewhere, could someone post a pic of this hose or direct me otherwise?
Thanks
anyone have an idea?
bump......
i think you need to be specific by what you mean when you say the aircon "reduces"
Does the temp change, fan speed drop, vent outlets change etc.
my bad, the fan speed drops when turning right
Does it drop at all settings with A/C on/off?
im digging up my old thread i never responded to, sorry about that.
its still happening where the air speed reduces when turning right (air con on or off). could it be a vacuum leak? where are the hoses to check this?
also i dont get foot air, removing the glove box and having it on feet, all i hear is a big lot of air coming from the top left corner where i think there are vents, once again is it related?
thanks again
"air speed reduces" : How much?
"when I turn right" : At what speed? How hard are you turning? Do the car revs drop also?
No, it couldn't be a vacuum leak. The air speed is controlled by an electronic blower fan. You will notice this can function with the car off.
Not getting foot air means the lower vents aren't closing to redirect air, OR the foot vents have fallen out of place. Either way, you have to get quite a bit of dashboard off to check.

From what I understand, the amount of air coming from the vents decreases when turning right.
Does it happen with the fan on any speed or just flat out?
Only thing I can think of offhand is that a wire to the resistor block is loose and breaks contact when turning right (long shot but who knows!)
any fan speed, im glad i didnt just give it to an air con place and said "fix it"![]()
And can you actually hear the speed reduce (fan slows) or does the air cut out but fan noise remains the same?
Which vents don't work? Has the dash been out recently or work done with radio?
i got a new deck installed when i got the car (bout 18months ago) by a mate who does it for a job so it was done properly. only happens with face vents (i dont get foot air lol) u can feel it decrease
So that would indicate that you have a problem with the vacuum operated flaps which direct the air in whatever direction you dial or possibly a flexible duct that's not fully pushed onto wherever it's supposed to go.
See if you can look behind the selector knobs to check the hoses are connected...also check where hoses go....remove the glovebox and also fuse cover panel and use a mirror and torch....also could be something blocking the air before it goes thru the fan....nothing been sucked in? - plastic shopping bags are not unusual.
It's going to take a bit to find the problem I reckon so I don't envy you.
Good Luck.
thanks a heap hako, ill investigate when ive got time, prob next weekend
