auto trans kickdown

just replaced my auto today as the other one spat it. is their any way of adjusting the kickdown on a vr with cruise control. still slips between 2 gears when kicking down. or is it easier to buy another computer . hoping that the change points are different.

The kickdown in a VR/VS the kickdown is not controlled by kickdown cable like the VN/VPs, sp it is not as simple as adjusting a cable like in the earlier models.

Operation of the auto trans in a VR/VS is controlled via the PCM. Kickdown is very slow compared with a VN/VP. You can get the chip modified to increase the fluid pressures which helps a little but the only way to get a decent kickdown is to install a shift kit.
