Hi,
New member here seeking advice on this crazy fault that started a few months ago. The engine consistently stalls at any throttle settings during right hand turns only, sometimes even if just idling through the turn, when the tank is below about half level.
I have already replaced the fuel pump almost a year ago and the fuel filter was just replaced, however the fault persists. It appears either the pump pressure drops for some reason, or there is an intermittent blockage at the pump inlet, or perhaps air is being sucked in as the fuel moves to the left of the tank during RH turns. I have checked the pump connector, fuse and relay for intermittent connection and all appears OK so at this stage, other than replacing the pump again, I can't think of anything else I can try.
I would greatly appreciate any feedback on this issue if anyone has any ideas. Thanks.
I had the same problem with my car, It was the pump.
Take it to holden imo.
Has to be fuel surge - has been covered many times and is due to the fuel return pipe inside the tank not directing the return line fuel into the swirl pot - usually happens after a pump changeover. Try a search on this forum for "fuel surge". Good Luck.
Had the same prob with my old VR just after i had the fuel pump changed and only happened when the tank was 1/4 full. I didn't get around to fixing it but made sure tank was always more than 1/4 full.
Have a look at the pics in this thread. It shows the main cause of this problem.
