Default VS Exhaust 5L - Feedback and Info PLEASE HELP!!!!

Hey guys im looking at modifying my exhaust to get better flow...
I have a HSV VS Manta 185i 5 Litre and it has standard extractors, twin hsv mufflers, single cat and it has been modified to go to twin pipes at the rear...

I am getting a set of pacemaker extractors and probably keep the 2 1/2" system.

but i am not sure weather to go twin or single hi flow cats... also should i go ceramic or metal??? will there be backpressure problems or any other problems???

My car has a stall converter 2,500, 3'9 diff gears, transcooler, shift kit and i am getting a 286 crane cam and dyno tune so i want to get the exhaust micky mouse before i send it in to get the cam and tune

    Cheers Guys

yeah pacemakers are the go.change the cam and get it tuned with standard exhaust on and get a power read out.now when you put the extractors and exhaust on you can actually see what your modification has made to power out put.

I wouldnt really bother too much man, your much better off getting a new exhaust.
Twin cats are the way to go, with a twin 2.5" to match.
Could prob get away with a single 3" with that setup though. What ever happened to that twin system you were telling me about? That was cheap why not go for that

i heard off a mate that one of his mechanics told him that the hiflow cats arent good unless your chasing alot of power, and also said stock ones will do fine/flow the sameish on a stockish 5l

Hey man went down there and the system is no longer available... apparently there isnt enough market for late holdens... im spewing... i got quoted $1400 for a set of hi flow cats (metal) and pacemaker extractors installed... does that sound fair????

other wise i got quoted $1200 for a single hi flow cat (metal) and paceys at another joint....

Hmmm yeah, if they are decent cats, the cats on there own are worth anything between like 200-600 each. But all depends what they are

id def go the twin highflow cats (metal) as ceramic are sposed to crack so ive heard.
ud be better off with a twin 2.5" system making it kinda mod proof just incase ur chasing even bigger power later down the track . i paid 285 each for my metal highflow's and 600 for my twin 2.5" all the way in mild steel but . i think ur getting a reasonable deal wth the pacemakers

ok new plan of attack i am thinking of going a set of difilipo extractors and twin hiflow cats.. are the mufflers ok with this setup or will i have issues? if they work just as well id rather keep em... im running a come csbh 462 cam + valvesprings and injectors... not running compression its just running stadard so i want the exhaust to increase the power!
