For the people with a VS 3.8l what kind of km's can you get with a full tank of fuel?
I have always been getting around 400-420k's.
Dad in his VR gets almost 100k's more on average.
We both have 60litre tanks and both drive in pretty similar styles.
I just replaced the plugs and leads thinking I might gain something but it does not look like it.
city driving i get 440, country driving 600 plus.
there's already a big thread on this
lol beofre this goes on lock down
i get 360? to a tank? with 8 litres left
I never let my petrol get under 1/4, but it's usually at around 350-400 at 1/4.
ive got a vs wag manual getrag 5sp, im running shell v-power, on a trip to wodonga from melb was my best 8.87 L/100/km. 110km/h all the way taken it real easy and just a bit of local 60km/h trips around the town. no a/c and 34degrees weather. 4 adults in the car and luggage. standard motor and exhaust, 260,000km, CAI and lukey washable air filter. i also dont let it go under a quarter tank.
11.57 L/100/KM just goin to work and back 10 mins each way, stop start, quick take offs, a few drags.1 adult driver.
equation i use is follows: km driven divide by 100 = total X. liters of fuel put in until first click, divide by x, gives u L/100/KM.
Example 550km odometre divide by 100 = 5.5
46litres fuel filled up, divide by 5.5 = 8.36L/100/KM
the missus has a vs auto sedan on gas, thats different altogether.
Yeah I just found the thread with this being discussed.
Seems like there is a big difference from one person to the next. Some get 350 while others get 500.
My car runs smooth as and is whisper quiet. Only 180,000k on the clock. I would have expected to get 500km from a tank since I drive it like a grandma.
I get better fuel economy driving around my v8 chev then the ecotec v6.
i get about 420 around town thats not granny style either so yeh lol

NON GRANNY - NON HOON (NORMAL) DRVING
I had really terrible fuel economy bearly scraping 330Kms for full tank.
After a few fix ups its hit 380Km,
and now getting better and better by the day
Looking at 400+ with this full tank.
i've been getting around 400-450 city driving and have just replaced the leads and added a CAI and lukey high flow filter and half way through that full tank so keen to see what i get now.
