VS tailshaft/diff

Hey everyone

I have a VS calais S2 v6, got a stage 2 shift kit installed when i first got the car and its been all sweet.
But now i am noticing a lil whine when accelerating but stopping when i get up 2 speed and that every now and then there will be a lil bit of a 'backlash' from the tailshaft/diff area when i let my foot off accelerator.

now my question is would this be diff or tailshaft related??
How much roughly for a re-build on my diff(lsd)??
and a price on a decent tailshaft??
and i live in SA, so if you know of any good worksops in SA let me know please.

Working on a supercharged engine at the moment in the shed and want to have the diff/tailshaft pretty strong so it can handly some power without breaking.

dude, this is gold..... It just happend to me.
I just picked upa 2nd hand diff off my mate which has only got 80 000kms on it.

I knew my diff was on its way out... and the noise only got worse. (exact same as ur noise)

I looked on ebay at diffs, i looked at all these irs diff, Cars, Bikes, Boats, Transmission items at low prices on eBay.com.au

aight cheers, so it was only your diff? nothing to do with your tailshaft??

my dad said shaft was fine, just diff was the one making all the whine, and scraping noise.
abt 3-4weeks ago, id drained my diff oil, and it was alright, but over last week got really worse. So ive now got my new (2nd handy) diff to be put in tmrw or wednesday.

Does urs make a sorta scraping noise (like brake pads make when thy are shot) ?

nah not yet, just starting to notice the whine noise when taking off. was gonna take it to boss diffs next week and get them to have a look at it aye. Hopefully wont end up costing too much just yet and can hold off for a lil bit haha

SA RACE have always done good work.had diff trans and tailshaft done by them and have had no troubles with their work.82661688,located at holden hill.

Got diff rebulit by BOSS diffs at lonsdale. works excellant now
