My Holden doesn't leak, It's just marking it's territory!
yea i pulled the stock one off put the new one and now its doing this
put the stock one back in and reset the ecu by dissconnecting the battery negative and wait a minute or so and plug it back on see if it comes right ide say you have the wrong kind of chip or its a dodgy one.
Hopefully when you put back the stock one, it will all go back to normal, then: Contact the seller.

was it a chip to suit auto or for manual vr as they are different
it was for a auto and i put the stock one back in and it hasent changed
and it runs ok just the speedo doesnt go and it wont change gears.check error codes the speed sensor may have gone funny if it happened when you put the chip in you did disconnect the power to the ecu by dissconnecting the battery when changing chips each time
yea i disconectid the battery every time and it runs fine until you drive it just wont change gears or show me how fast im going
speed sensor must have gone no orange check engine light on the dash normally would throw a code with no vss pulses and will much up the gearchanges and have no speedo check the wires around the ecu you may have disturbed one where did you get the chip maybe it fried the ecu
i got it of ebay
no error light then.what username on ebay
no error light the seller was water4hho
the error light will only come on after driving too and it sees no pulses from the sensor hope it hasnt fried the ecu just funny it happened at the same time as you put the chip in
so will i have to buy a new ecu then
well it may not be the ecu.could be just coincedence that the sensor went at the same time or a wire has a loose connection or maybe dissconnect the ecu for 5 minutes and try it it should have limphome mode for when the sensor dies and should still change gears just not very nicely.
I only wonder why you bought anything from a guy that sells what he doesmight as well get some snake oil with the eprom and the hydrogen generator
ok i will give it a go
whats your thoughts greenfoam apart from that posted above have you heard of an ecu dying as such as this
No, never heard of it. But did you solder the eprom in? and then solder the stock one back in? or how did you go about it? because alot of the time people dont get that right (the soldering) if the car is running the ecu should be fine, seems like the program on the memcal is not running and it's running in limp mode. Since thes stock one also doesn't work I'm suggesting its a bad solder (and a blown engine light bulb)
did you get a chip or a memcal maybe the chip isnt connecting properly if you have it in a socket
my mate solderd it in and it came with instrutions
ya know what when i turn the ingnition on theres a clicking noise where the fuses are
get your mate to check his soldering. 95% of the time, on soldered memcals, theres at least one pin not making contact properly, causing the problem.
did he solder it around the right way?
clicking near the fuses, that would be a solenoid.
Drop the cover under the steering wheel and have a feel/listen around, don't neglect the BCM either, itts that little black box tucked up above, that has a few solenoids in it too.
