hello all i have finally gone completely madd ive "misplaced" my last set of keys what should i do the car is locked and how would i replace the key should i replace the whole barrell and get a new key with that? i have no idea i have a VS SS what should i do. and where can i get it done cheap in the penrith aera and is one in 5 keys the same with vs's too?????? helllpppp
best bed is to relax
they will show up when your not looking
lol ive been trying that but i need the car to go to work so i would like to get it replaced soonish lol
you can get new keys and get them programmed to work with your existing locks, i think its really pricey though. you can do it at holden. not sure if its the same for VS's though, and not sure if you need an original key
As above,
Holden can do it, it costs alot (was over $100 for VN/P which have seperate key and remote).
You will need to take in with you (assuming because you can't drive the car, get a lift with someone else) rego papers showing proof of ownership, and ID etc. Aswell as something showing the details of the car, VIN and engine number specifically.
I don't think holden can actually cut the keys, but most key cutters can with the holden code that holden will give you when you go there! I think after you get back to the car, and use the spare key to turn off the immobiliser, you'll need to have the car at holden for them to programme the new remote. I have been told that it can rear the remote when you start the car, but i think thats bullshit personally!

lol thanx zuicider, ruggj and ofcourse stealthy you legends thanx for all your help im gonna make a few copys for my self and to put around my house lol so i have less chance of ever coming short for keys ever again again thanx all for your helpfullness
Your welcome mate.
I had the same problem, not because i'm forgetful, but because the car only came with 1 ignition key when i bought it.
So i had 2 of each key made (override and ignition) and had 2 new remotes programmed!
Since moff_man works at holden, ask him to get all your security codes for you, so you can organise the keys before you got to holden to get the programming! Worked out shitloads easier for me when i did that!
