Just got a level 3 cluster, question?

hey guys just scored a level 3 cluster off a V6 calais with 19xxxx kms on it, my S pack has 186xxx so pretty close.

i have pm'd markovr for some help with a modified loom and trip computer, but in the meantime can i plug it in and go without any trouble. i think all the guages will work (speedo, tacho, fuel and temp.) and the odometer i think??

but is it going to beep and S*&% me off all the time until i can do the whole electrics?

might be a trivial question but just wanna make sure cos although it only takes 5 mins to swap it over, not gonna do it if its just gonna beep its head off and not work.

it wont beep its head off but your cruise wont work and the lcd's wont work ither. other than that it will work as per normal

The ODO wont work until the 4th plug is wired in.

Anyway, I've included a description of each connector which might come in handy. also there's a link to tripin... in post 1, that has a few more diagrams.

It should be all you need to get going :-)

I had the same problem. Had a cluster with about 5000ks more than on my car. I just waited the 5000ks to put it in. You can still put the loom in and get it tested and going. But if you dont wanna add k's to your car just plug the old dash in when your done and wait till the k's tick up.

yeah thanks mate i saw your thread but i'm not good with electrics so i'll need markovr's modified loom so i can pretty much plug and play!! my limits with electrics is installing a cd player in my car lol.

@VRWAGZ - so once i get the loom from markovr i can install it with the trip computer and everything but keep using my level 2 dash and it will all work? until i reach the k's on the level 3 anyway!!

Correct, and if you got the speed alert still and if mark leaves you the speed alert plug in the loom he sends you, you can put that back in the hole for the moment too. The L2 cluster will work with the new loom. The main difference in the new loom is the 4th plug for the cluster, you just leave it unplugged when putting the L2 cluster in as it has no where to plug into it anyway.
