i turn on the climate control fans/heater and nothing happens. i check the fuse under the dash, ok but no power getting to it. i checked the a/c relay under the bonet. no power. swap relay with fuel pump and relay works. where does the power come from for the heater/fan controls? i also pulled out the resistor in the engine bay and looks ok.
Fuse number 22 in the engine compartment is the one you're after. It's 10 amps.
Hope you get it going.
Sounds like u blew a fuse.... in the engine compartment there is the main fuse box , then just infront of it is a smaller fuse box.... both covered,
now in the smaller fuse box there will be a white/clear fuse (25amp from memory) this sounds like it needs to be replaced.
i stumbled across this when i blew that fuse when my girlfriends VS got her Amp+Sub installed and they blew it...
good luck, happy hunting

i checked all fuses i could find in the engine bay ok but no fuse 22. wich one is it?, and the fuse box at drivers feet. it has number 9 for heater a/c 25amp. but it has no power. i pulled the fusebox out to check wires and the red/black wire going to number 9 comes from the ignition relay on the fuse box but no power going to that wire from the relay. i put a jumper wire to get power to the no9 fuse to see if it works. power there but still not at relay or fan controls.
i checked both fuse boxes above the battery with big and small amp fuses and all have power on both sides of the fuses
You're right - the cover as per pix 1 indicates the fuse is there but there is no 10 amp fuse??? Pix 2 is the wiring diagram for the fuse box. There is also a 30amp fusible link somewhere else in the circuit. Good Luck.
Edit - I must be dumb - down the bottom of the wiring diagram it says low series is the 25amp fuse...not 10 amp (you've checked that one?)

in my car that wiring and fuse is no.9 inside the car. reb/black wire on one side and pink/white on the other and both have no power. that 25amp in engine bay is abs fuse spot on my vr
So even when u put power to fuse 9 with a jumper wire the fan controls still did not work? it should work if you put power to the red/black wire.
I had a similar prob on my VN, I also traced it back to the ignition relay, turned out to be a bad earth on the relay so that may be work checking, it was the grey/black, I just ran a new earth to the metal bracket the fuse box mounts to.
OK - here's another try - the Ellerys manual for VR/VS says "A relay panel is situated under the lower right panel to the left of the steering column above the fuse panel"
Ignition Relay
Rear window heater relay
Heater and airconditioner relay
Indicator flasher relay."
Any help?
here are the pics of my fuse boxes and relays. i have replaced all fuses and relays now and still no power to the no.9 fuse or a/c relay in engine bay. i will check the earths in the morning. i hope thats it. i don't want to have to open up the harness to look for broken wire.![]()
ok i connected another earth to the ingintion relay the power was coming from and i now have power to the no.9 fuse, ac button, fan control switch, fan and resistor wires.
BUT still no fan working. press the ac switch and the motor revs up now. still no blowing of air in the cabin.move the fan switch and power is getting to the fan. fan still dont spin. could my fan or resistor be gone as well? i know the resistor controls the fan speeds and you change it if you have lost 1or 2 speeds then you get all speeds back. but i don't have any speed at all.
have you tryed fuse 17 in the cabin fuse pannel, its the one down the bottom my vr book says its for ecc might have something to do with your problem
failing that check if there is battery voltage at the fan motor this may help you find what is goin on
my fuse 17 is empty no wiring and i have 11.79v at fan motor
you should have a 5 amp fuse if you have climate control? or do you have std a/c with out the screen etc?
the blower motor should have 12 v from realy than its earthed through the resistor pack through the switch to earth. might have a dickey switch not having speeds 3 and 4 also suggests the resistor pack is fine.
its std ac no screen
the fan is turning by hand nice and freely. power is getting to the fan when you turn the fan switch on so the switch is ok, i'm thinking of swaping the fan motor?
I'd go with vn6pwr and check that earth - its probably the same one that went to the ignition relay.
hooked up an extra earth and still no go so looking for another fan motor now
got a fan from the wreckers today for $20. plugged it in and problem solved working on all speeds now. woooohooooo. now i just have to fit it and put the dash back together. thanks to all for the help. your all legends
