rip out the little flappy plastic bits in them and it should be fine....... that worked for me lol
the vents are just there to give the boot some ventilation i guess so yeah just rip the rubber bits out
Yeah +1 on ripping out the little rubber flaps. I did to mine, stopped all noise from that area, no I just have to fix the rest of the boot vibrations![]()
The vents are there to stop air pressure building up when you shut the door with all windows up.
Taking the flaps out will allow dirt and crap back in the car.
Windows in the boot? lol, wouldn't make sense that the put it behind the spare tyre where it's covered by carpet protector anyway, meaning aslong as the carpet bit is there, no dirt will get into the boot, only the spare wheel area.
Nah I do realise it what you are saying, i just think thats its a really weird place to put it, like they are hidden away and behind a cover. Plus air would have to travel through the gaps between the rear seats to enter the boot anyway.
Blindworld, just get rid of them, aslong as you have the cover to hide the spare wheel, it will be fine![]()

Where would you put them then?
Would assume in the front cabin are somewhere, but air would exit through the air-con vents I'm sure. I am not arguing your point, I just think that their sole purpose isn't too vent all the pressure out from inside the car. Possibly shutting the boot would force air out of the flaps, but air pressure build up from inside the whole car exiting through the two vents is ridiculous. There would be another vent somewhere I'm sure.
They are there to relieve air pressure, not air volume. Pressure will easily pass through the back seat and a layer of carpet. For example: does the back seat stop your subs from shaking the sh*t out of you?![]()
Ahh good point azzfox. There settled now
Moving on...
