Ok, So I read on here that some/all execs have the power connectors for the front window regulators.
Now... What's confused me is it seems my back ones have them also (although they arn't pushed through to the door) - is this normal?
Anyhow, I have an exec with a low series BCM, What i'm wondering is if there will be any advantage to using the existing loom over my own wiring? I should also note that there appears to be no connector for the switch in the rear door(s).
Cheers,
JD

My Holden doesn't leak, It's just marking it's territory!
Just had a good look inside the door, definately can't find plugs for the switch
I'm thinking I might be better off using my own wiring, as it probably goes to the BCM and does nothing (because of the low level BCM), or would it continue to somewhere?
I didn't notice any plugs in the centre console either (not that I had a good look)
Anyone?

my dads exec vx had the power window wiring loom, plugs and wires just stopping before going into the door, and the plug for the switches under the console he just got the wiring for inside the doors the motors, got switches pluged in the relay and fuse and it was perfect.
Thanks for that info!
Might get a new battery for the multimeter and have a better look

see if it has the metal tabs in the fuse slot under the dash if it does its got the wiring if its empty then it doesnt and you need the entire loom
I don't think it does, but i'll go without the loom and make my own if needed ( I have the plugs)

if the car has ABS it will have all the loom there
things to check if you have the wiring..
2 metal pins in fuse 5 (i believe its no5)
5 metal pins where the pwr window relay goes
plugs under the console, beneath the stereo.
plugs in the B-piller, which is for the rear doors
if you have them u can install power windows without much hassle, i think there is a couple of threads with good info in the electrics section or it could have been in this section
I don't think I have it all, just the window regulator plugs (which are taped off)
I don't have ABS either

when i had my vr door apart today i noticed the electric window plug so its standard series one vr executive bt1
was it the front or rear door?
It's common in the front doors, but I didn't think it existed in the back ones
(Well - its not in the back door, just inside the car - but still part of the loom.

front doors i also have a set of electric winows mechs from a vr seires one executive and looms so should be there,
Mmm just wired in the back window, and its not doing to well.
Seems to be gripping on the old tracks a bit too much... might try some spray lube (silicone) or whatever it's called.
Also might check the earth, since when I tested it (straight after install) it was perfect :-s

^^^ This is correct. ^^^
I installed elec window in my VR not long ago. I already had the main wiring loom and the 2 front door looms run through the car from factory. Only thing I had to do was swap all 4 manual regs with the elec window regs, then swap the rear door wiring looms with elec window wiring looms. Plug it all in, then plug the switches in. Get new relays for the elec windows, they plug in under the dash, beside the steering rack.
Also you will have to change the BCM otherwise the drivers window won't work. I just bypassed it with the help of a little tut on **************** as it was alot easier and cheaper![]()
