Hey Guys,
Just got an annoying issue with my VS at the moment, Idling in drive, and up to low revs ~2000ish there is a constant knocking/vibrating noise, and it is also noticable when turning a corner at low revs also.
However when I accelerate at a quicker pace it is no longer there, so it is just occuring both at idle/turning and only at low revs.
Recently did an oil change/filter change etc, and it was present before then, however not as much, the only thing that was changed when reassembling the sump guard etc was an extra bolt put in the sump guard as one was missing, I am not sure if it is vibrating on the exhaust etc.
Any ideas?
Cheers
Try and get under the car when it's idling and making the noise - use ramps or a high gutter as a good mate of mine in Townsville was killed 2 days ago when his car collapsed on him. Try to locate the noise using a length of garden hose and/or a short length of broomstick as a stephoscope.
Good Luck.
my vs was doing the same. the exhaust tail pipe had lost one support rubber and was knocking on the rear sway bar/control arm. if that is all it is, a $5 rubber should fix her.
