Statesman Centre Console

Hey guys i have a Vs Statesman series III centre console and stereo fascia and i was hoping to see if i would be able to fit it in a series I VS Berlina and if anyone else has done or tryed to do it

I put one in my calais and it needed some modding to do it! My calais had a flat piece of steel that needed to be removed to be able to get the stereo surround to fit in! also it is a bitch (well was in mine) to line up properly, i take it you also have the dash support panel that goes in behind the stereo surround? if not you will need it as the statesman ones are different from the rest, or you might be able to mod yours but im not really sure!

If it's the same console as mine then yes it will fit. You'll need to modify the bottom console (your original) for the statesman one to fit over unless you were lucky enough to get both pieces already done like me. The stereo surround is fairly easy. You cut your grey piece to allow the cover to go over and the middle horizontal metal support bar thaats under the stereo will need to be taken out. Just a matter of drilling out the welds.

I now have a bought a stato console with radio facia with mini woodgrain glove box. I wish to install on my 2000 vs ute. The utes interior is stock. The stato console has a cig lighter that is hidden by its ash tray cover and sits on an angle.

I did a mock up (test install) over the weekend and I can't see how the stato overlays the original as the original cig lighter looks like its in the way.

Do they actually sit over the top / over lay one another??





Also what happens to the red flashing security light when the stato radio surround goes in, there isn't a place on the stato radio surround for the blinking light?

Is there a "how to" on this topic?
