Default A different electric window problem

I was pulled into a RBT on Friday night, put the window down, blew .00 (naturally), and drove away, all good.
Went to put the window up again, and it got stuck half way up. On the way down again I heard a loud cracking/snapping sound, and then it wouldn't go back up.
Just pulled the trim off and had a look, and it turns out that 3 of the rivets holding the mechanism on have snapped clean off.

So, what are my options here? Is it fixable with my basic tools and skills, or do I have to fork out cash I don't have to get a pro to take a look?

Also, it looked to me like the rivets there weren't originals (There are marks on the metal that look like there were bigger ones there before). Is it possible that tint-a-car would have replaced them with dodgy ones when I got it tinted last year? And if so can I make them pay to fix it?

i dont know anything about tinting windows but there are ment to be the bigger riverts, about $1 a pop if that or go to miter 10 etc and get some riverts and just put them in your self.

or you can use small bolts and nuts and do them up tight, its up to you

So I should be able to fiddle around inside the door skin enough to be able to rivet/bolt the mechanism back on? I'll go back out and have another look.

Does anyone have any hints to get the glass back into the guides? I had a go before and failed majorly

I used 4 nuts n bolts with spring washers to bolt the VN windows back in. Done all 3 VN's now. (1 electric and 2 winder)

Takes about 30 mins to fix up..... and hours if beer is involved

Getting the glass back in - just undo the 2 bolts that hold the front runner in place to give you a little room.

as others have said, replace with bolts. When i did the conversion to power windows, i used 5mm bolts that were 20mm long, worked perfectly.

Alright, so I managed to bolt the mechanism back on, but it turns out that the arm has disconnected itself from the slide thing that makes sure the window goes up straight (metal ball pushed into a plastic slide in a runner). Try as I might I can't get it to go back in. Is there some way to do this or am I just weak?

Yes, all the terms above are the technical names for all the bits, and I am clearly an expert on the matter

They slide in from memory - not pop in from the side. Best to losen off the front runner so you can move the glass into place (slide the white plastic bit into the runner.)

Sorry, I didnt explain that too well. The plastic bit is still in the runner, but the metal arm has managed to pop out of the plastic bit

Lol just rmember when this happenend to me a couple of months ago, wasnt easy to fix.

Get someone to give you a hand holding the window level while you push the ball back into the socket,It takes a bit of pressure to pop it back in.

If you cant manage to pop it back in just drill it out a little it will go in a bit easier & still be ok.

Bit of CRC could help to pop it back in to the runner thingo bit.
