    Default !!dash facier and ecu cover removal??

    hey guys just wondering how to take the dash facier off my vr commodore for painting.and also i bought a performance chip and cant get the cover off to get to the ecu? how does it come off

    To get the facia off, undo the 2 screws above the instrument cluster, then you should just be able to pull the whole thing towards you, and it will unclip. Once you have it out a bit you can reach behind and unplug everything that's attached. It is easier if you have the steering wheel all the way down and pulled out as far as you can.

    As far as the performance chip, do you mean a memcal? If so, and I assume you have got to the ecu behind the kickpanel, then you should just be able to unscrew the 4 star screws on the little access panel on top, and then just unplug and replace the memcal. I'll try to find you a link to better instructions

    Oh ok, my bad. It's been a while since I've done that, but there might be one little plastic screw up under the glovebox to pull out, and you *might* have to pull up that end of the sill-cover thingo. I'll have a look in a minute when I go out to the shed, and let you know when I come back a bit later

    or are you meaning the metal security cover over the ecu its rivoted on with HELL hardned rivots they are hard and take a fair bit of drilling to get out drill slow or you will melt your drill bit
    I tune the oldschool way fear on the passengers face and knuckle colour cant go wrong
