my diff is starting to get a bit noisy and was just wondering how much it'd be to fix/replace? and also how much would it be to get an lsd put in?
i can tell u that i was quoted about $700 to rebuild a diff and put the lsd in, however that was supplying my own lsd center. hope that gives u a bit of an idea
How to: Source your own diff gears and remove them yourself
that may help you.
dont worry, il start a ride thread soon.
my uncle put an lsd centre in his ute for $500 fitted. some place in sydney, will have to ask him where

if its noisy would it just need oil or does it need a rebuild?
is it noisy when accelerating or it happen when u reach 60kph?
it happens when i reach 60
not 100% sure but i think your diff gears the problem unless you take off the cover n have a look at the gear, cause bearing noise do this all the time where as gear noise started when you reach 60 n above.
cost me $300 to buy a reconditioned lsd off ebay and $50 for oil, additive, gasket and gasket sealer. installed it myself not really that hard
i went to sa race and sam hooked me up with a fully customised lsd diff new axles, retensioned it to 180ftlbs(standard=85ftlbs)but it was costly at around $1700 but it works so well no effort required.
how soon would i need to fix/replace the diff if its whining? its only happening when going around 60 and over, but worst from about 60-80 and in third
its probably the bearings that are wearing out, its a common problem in commodore irs's...will probably need a rebuild or if you dont have the money just get a second handy off ebay or wreckers and hope thats fine

I got worn out second hand LSD for $150 that was only spinning one wheel. Did a bit of research and shimmed it up myself for free. Tight as anything when I got it in the car.
