VS Berlina Stereo - fixed wire?

Hi guys

Just putting a new stereo in my VS Berlina.
When removing the old stereo I unplugged the white power/speaker plug and the aerial plug, however there is a thick grey cable that is fixed to the stereo (can't be unplugged) that goes behind the glovebox?

Any ideas of what it is and how I remove it so I can replace the stereo.

dont rly know what would be in the berlina, but would that be like, the security type cable thing? lol

dont the stock sterios have a security system in it?

Managed to trace wire - is a din plug so possibly was an input for a CD player as there is a CD logo on the headunit..

its the cable that runs to the (optional) cd stacker.
