Hey guys need some recommendations on an issue i have been having... Firstly driving home last night after about 5 mins the temp gauge shot right up to hot, then after a minute or so it went back down to where it should be, as in the needle dropped quickly! and this happened with out the fan kicking in either! now i know it's not a pump issue, or thermostat issue as these have been replaced recently...
So i wondering if you guys feel that this is a water temp sender issue? or other?
thanks guys![]()
this issue came up on mine... and came up on the codes when it was plugged into a tech-2... the auto-sparky just readjusted the connections and sprayed them with some CRC and it seemed to fix it.
Hopefully it's just the connector to the sensor - make sure its on tight - if it's loose it can cause you problem. From memory if you remove the connector the the open circuit causes full needle deflection and reads HOT. Also check the cable to the connector is nor frayed or corroded near the connector as the wiring gets hot in this area and the insulation goes hard and brittle. Hope that's all it is.
